Some patients may prefer to use Self-Propelled Wheelchairs, as this will allow them to maintain their own independence and freedom. The wheels are fitted with a hand rim that allows the patient to push themselves forward and manoeuvre with ease. If the patient starts to get tired, these wheelchairs can still be pushed by an attendant if needed.
