While this happens, the alarm itself can play a customisable voice message recorded by carers, or family members, to reassure the patient and give them instructions on how to sit back down to prevent injury.

How Does the Fall Alarm Work?

The Nutrix Care Fall Prevention Alarm is easy to use for intuitive fall prevention. The alarm clips onto the side of beds, hospital beds, chairs and wheelchairs where the patient is sitting or lying own. On the other end of the included cord, a clip is attached to the patient themselves, and when the clip is disconnected from the patient, the alarm sounds as the patient goes to stand up.

This allows carers to quickly begin fall prevention practises before the patient injures themselves - protecting patients before injuries occur, rather than treating them when it is too late.

Instructions for Use

To use the alarm, read the below instructions:

1. Set up the alarm according to the instruction manual included
2. Mount the alarm in a suitable location or use the wall mount bracket
3. Attach the magnetic pull chord
4. Place the magnetic key in the front compartment
5. Attach the clip to the patient, securing the chord
6. Adjust chord length, avoiding entanglement
7. Slide the volume switch to "HI" or "LO" for the desired volume level
8. Check the battery low LED and test the unit before using it on a patient

Compatible with the Chair Sensor Mat 

The Nutrix Care System Alarm can be used on its own or in conjunction with the Chair Sensor Mat. To attach the two items together, simply connect the alarm to the chair mat using the supplied connecting chord. This allows the system to operate as a pressure-off fall prevention design as opposed to a chord-operated fall detection unit, which is how this alarm operates on its own.
