Which Oxygen Concentrators Is This Cannula Suitable For?

The DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula has been designed for use alongside the following oxygen concentrators:

Can I Use This Nasal Cannula for Other Oxygen Concentrators?

This nasal cannula may be suitable for other models of oxygen concentrators as it features a Salter-Style Standard Ribbed connector. However, please enquire with the manufacturer of your oxygen concentrator to confirm this, as the DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula has been designed for DeVilbiss oxygen concentrators.

How Do I Use the DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula?

To use the cannula, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the cannula to your oxygen concentrator
  2. Insert the nasal piece of the cannula into your nostrils (with the prongs facing upwards)
  3. Loop the tubing around your ears to provide greater security
  4. You should now be able to use your nasal cannula; if you are struggling to use the cannula, please replace immediately

How Often Should I Replace My Cannula?

Being inserted into the nose, there is a high likelihood that your cannula is going to come into contact with germs. For conditions that commonly require the need for an oxygen concentrator (such as COPD), you want to limit your exposure to viruses and illnesses as much as possible.

Even if you are cleaning your cannula on a daily basis, we would recommend that daily oxygen users should replace their cannulae approximately every 10 days. For people who only occasionally require oxygen, you may be able to use your cannulae for longer (as long as cleaning is maintained).

How Comfortable Is the DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula?

Designed for exceptional comfort, the DeVilbiss 2m Cannula is a Salter-Style cannula with soft curved nasal prongs for reduced discomfort over time. As well as this, the cannula is designed without a "flap" or lip-tab, which many users find to be more comfortable.

How Long Is the Cannula?

The DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula has a length of 7' (approximately 213cm), giving you a good level of freedom of movement while connected to your oxygen concentrator. To prevent accidents from occurring, we would recommend never extending the cannula until it is taut.

How Can I Clean My Cannula?

To ensure the best level of hygiene it is recommended to clean your nasal cannula every 2 - 3 days (if you are suffering from a cold, we would recommend daily cleaning). To clean the cannula, firstly wash in soapy water before rinsing with a solution made of 10 parts water to one part vinegar.

Can Multiple Users Use the Same Cannula?

It is not recommended for more than one user to use the same cannula. If you are in a household or facility with multiple people needing oxygen therapy, we'd recommend having a look at the Bulk Packs listed at the top of the page.

Does the DeVilbiss Nasal Cannula Feature Latex?

The DeVilbiss 2m Nasal Cannula does NOT include any latex in its materials, making it suitable for those who have a latex allergy.
