Which Apertures are Included with the Ophthalmoscope?

There are six apertures featured on this device:

• Slit (for determining tumour and lesion levels)
• Fixation (with graduated crosshairs for measuring eccentric fixation or finding lesions)
• Large (a standard aperture for dilated pupils and general eye exams)
• Small (for a clearer view of the fundus through an un-dilated pupil)
• Micro spot (for quick entry into small, un-dilated pupils)
• Half-moon (for a combination of depth perception and field of view during observations)

Which Filters are Included with This Device?

There are three filters on this device (as well as a 'neutral' state). These are:

• Red free: a filter to exclude red rays to allow easier identification of the veins, arteries, and nerve fibres
• Cobalt: ideal for use with fluorescent dye to better see small lesions, abrasions, and foreign objects on the cornea
• Polarising: virtually eliminated reflections on the cornea
