Apollo II Dynamic Pressure Relief Replacement Mattress System

Patients who are unable to move are at a high risk of developing pressure sores when lying in the same position all day. The Apollo II Dynamic Pressure Relief Replacement Mattress System solves this problem by shifting the patients position every 10 minutes by alternating the inflation level of the cells underneath. This mattress system is suitable for hospitals, care homes and private residential care.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Apollo II Pressure Relief Mattress
  • 1 x Apollo II Control Unit
  • 1 x Mattress Cover

Who Can Use the Apollo II Dynamic Pressure Relief Mattress?

The Apollo II Mattress is designed for patients who are at high risk of developing pressure sores and ulcers, and can be used within hospitals, care homes or private residential care. The mattress features 20 foam cells, 17 of which alternate every 10 minutes to shift the patients weight and ease pressure.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Seventeen alternating foam cells help relieve pressure for bed-bound patients
  • Three static head cells to prevent nausea
  • Suitable for high-risk patients prone to up to category 4 pressure ulcers
  • CPR dial allows rapid deflation of the mattress in emergency situations
  • Pressure control unit monitors and adjusts the mattress pressure to a set level
  • Audio and visual alerts for low pressure or power failure
  • Dartex multi-stretch, waterproof cover protects the mattress
  • 360° zip cover for easy removal when cleaning
  • Complies with EN 60601-1, EN 60601-1-2 and EN 60601-1-11

How Does the Apollo II Relieve Pressure for the Patient?

The Apollo II Mattress relieves pressure by alternating the foam cells beneath the patient every ten minutes. Each individual cell has an "air-on-air" construction that prevents the mattress from deflating too much, as the lower section of each cell remains inflated to provide a supportive base.

Can This Mattress Be Used with a Profiling Bed?

The Apollo II Mattress can be used in conjunction with a profiling bed to make patient care easier. This mattress will work best with either of the two profiling beds listed below.

Is the Apollo II Mattress Easy To Transport?

When a patient needs to be moved or repositioned, the Apollo Mattress has a Max Inflate Setting that turn the mattress rigid for easier transport. Straps on the underside of the mattress cover provide a secure hold, allowing carers to evacuate patients easier in the even of an emergency.

Does the Apollo II Pressure Relief Mattress Have a Cover?

Yes, the Apollo II Pressure Relief Mattress features a Dartex fabric multi-stretch cover. Waterproof and vapour permeable, this cover helps keep the mattress clean and is especially useful for incontinent patients. An anti-fungal agent is integrated into the fabric to help control microbial deterioration.

How Do I Disinfect the Cover?

The mattress cover has a 360° zip for easy removal when cleaning. Once removed, wipe the cover using cold water and a 0.1% chlorine solution.

Can You Perform CPR On This Mattress?

In the event of an emergency, the Apollo II Pressure Relief Mattress features a CPR dial that allows rapid deflation of the mattress, making it easier for carers to perform CPR. The dial is easy to operate and strategically placed in order to prevent accidental use.
