The Sussex Vision Romanes Optical Occluder is a versatile tool suitable for use during a range of eyecare and assessment procedures. This all-purpose occluder is suitable for use with trial lens cases when determining the correct lens aperture for a patient, for assessing visual acuity, and for use during cover-eye tests. The longer edge of this occluder can be used for measuring inter-pupillary distance, or the level of drooping in an eyelid.

What Is the Function of the Optical Occluder?

Optical occluders are useful accessories used to cover the patient's eye during various tests. This particular occluder design is ideal for assessing visual acuity, use with a trial case for determining the appropriate lens aperture, and cover-eye tests.

One side of the handle of this optical occluder features a millimetre scale for measure inter-pupillary distance, and to offer a numerical measurement of ptosi, or eyelid dropping.
