How Does the Adult Choking Manikin Work?
This adult manikin from Simulaids is supplied with two additional choking objects that simulate a hot-dog slice and a hard-boiled sweet. This allows students to practice clearing a blocked airway using manoeuvres like abdominal thrusts and back blows. Once a choking object has been lodged in the dummy's airway, students can choose where to position their hands using anatomical landmarks for reference. If CPR is carried out correctly, the manikin will expel the object from its airway.
