What Does the Erler-Zimmer Respiratory Organs Model Consist Of?

The diaphragm of the Erler-Zimmer Respiratory Organs Model includes muscles, tendons, and openings for all of the major blood vessels and oesophagus. The heart is included with this model and shows the origins of five abdominal arteries at the aorta. The Respiratory Organs Model also includes three thoracic and three lumbar vertebrae in order to show how the respiratory organs are supported.

What Does the Erler-Zimmer Respiratory Model Demonstrate?

The left lung of the Respiratory Organs Model is sectioned to expose its internal structures including the bronchioles, pulmonary arteries, and veins. The larynx of the Respiratory Organs Model is sectioned to show its internal structure and the heart is bisected to allow for a view of the atria and ventricles. The superior and inferior vena cava, aorta, pulmonary artery, and coronary sinus are all also visible.

The Erler-Zimmer Respiratory Model is supplied on a stand which allows for an easy display of the model in a number of medical and educational settings. The base also means the model does not need to be put away into storage and be at risk of its removable parts getting lost.
