What is the Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Doll Designed for?

This excellent training manikin has been designed and constructed for medical students to practise the correct patient positioning techniques for taking various radiographs, and for bony examinations in CT. The manikin does not contain any soft tissue structures, only organ dummies for creating shadows on an x-ray image are included.

Mimics Human Movements

The Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Doll is mounted so that the joints have a natural range of motion. This feature means the model displays normal human movements for the best possible training on body positioning during radiography. Please note that although the model has moveable joints, the hands, feet and spine of the doll are not moveable.

How Realistic is the Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Manikin?

With the Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Doll, movements are possible without much effort, and as soon as the user feels a large resistance, the user has reached the limit of mobility. The joints of the model should not be forced into an unnatural position, and the manikin should be appropriately supported and positioned like a human being during X-rays - the use of foam wedges and bags as with humans is also recommended.

Little Maintenance Required

When used properly, this Erler-Zimmer manikin does not require any care or maintenance. It is advised do avoid soiling, and always store the manikin in its case - never in a dirty or dusty environment.

How Do I Clean this Manikin in the Event of Heavy Soiling?

In case of heavy soiling, the user can take off the manikin's suit and wash it at 30°C in the washing machine. Be sure to follow the care label inside the suit.

How Do I Store the Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Doll?

Storage in the supplied case is strongly recommended for the Erler-Zimmer Radiography Positioning Doll. Make sure that the manikin is always stored lying on its back, as sideways storage or vertical storage in the case may cause damage.
