This eye test has been designed to gauge a patient's clarity of vision, or visual acuity, from the standard 6-metre distance. Both the TVH and E test types are designed with rows that decrease in size further down the page.

What's the Difference Between the TVH and E Test Types?

The TVH and E test types differ in what the patient is being asked to identify. The TVH test is designed with different letters, and the patient must read out the letters down the page in order to test visual clarity. The tumbling E test type is designed to enables users to use a card with an E printed on it to instead show that they can see the position of the E on the chart, which is particularly useful for those who are mute or illiterate.
