Why Is Cryotherapy Useful in Treating Injury? When you are injured, using cryotherapy to treat injury can produce a number of benefits that help ease your recovery. Not only will cold compression therapy help to alleviate pain and swelling, but it will also help stimulate blood flow throughout the affected area. Using this form of treatment can also yield faster recovery times, meaning you can get back to health quickly and safely.
How Does the Aircast Automatic Cryo/Cuff Compress? Once you have plugged your unit in to the mains, you will hear the internal motor start up and power down every thirty seconds. Once attached correctly, your Cryo/Cuff will follow this cycle, providing intermittent compression every thirty or so seconds.
How Do I Use the Cooler? To prepare the cooler, connect the blue tube to the cooler and fill with cold water to the line provided. Add ice and place the insulation disk on top before attaching the cooler lid and closing shut. (See figure 1).
Allow up to five minutes for the water to chill, shaking the cooler occasionally. This will enable you to begin cryotherapy treatment with your chosen Cryo/Cuff device.
