How Does the Res-Q-Vac Aspirator Work?
The large trigger handle on this aspirator is used to generate large amounts of suction. At the same time, the Full Stop Protection filter prevents the backflow of fluid to protect the casualty from infection. The device has been designed to work with one-hand operation to give you the freedom needed to effectively treat your patient or casualty.
Who Can Use the Res-Q-Vac?
The Res-Q-Vac Aspirator is a practical approach to administering oral suction for medical professionals and first aiders. The handheld nature of the device makes it ideal for storing in an emergency bag, whether by an on-call medic or by a designated first aider, to ensure that it can be kept nearby in case of an emergency.
This ease of storage also makes the Res-Q-Vac a practical option for any public space where medical attention may be required for an adult or a child without warning. With the Res-Q-Vac, an airway blocked by vomit, blood, phlegm, or other fluid can be suctioned from the casualty, with the hospital-grade whistle-tipped catheter preventing tissue damage in the process.

What Are the Benefits of the 0.22µ Full Stop Protection Filter?
This handheld medical aspirator features a patented 0.22µ (0.22 micron) Full Stop Protection filter to safeguard against infectious diseases. It does this by preventing fluid from flowing back down the catheter to the casualty when the bottle has become full.
How Powerful Is the Suction of the Res-Q-Vac Aspirator?
The suction provided by this handheld aspirator can produce an impressive 600mmHg of suction. This is over 11.5psi and equivalent to that produced within a hospital.
Does the Res-Q-Vac Aspirator Make Any Noise?
Unlike electrical-based aspirators, the Handheld Res-Q-Vac provides silent operation. This is ideal for patients who may feel uncomfortable with noisy aspirators.
How Do I Assemble the Res-Q-Vac?
Provided almost ready to use, the Res-Q-Vac is incredibly easy to use. Simply connect the catheter to the canister, and it is ready to use. Once the catheter is in position, the handle can be pulled to activate the suction.
Which Catheter Style Do I Need?
The Res-Q-Vac Aspirator includes a 300ml canister and two catheters. One child catheter is included, as well as one adult catheter. Please select either the Rigid Adult Catheter or Soft Adult Catheter from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Can I Purchase Spare Canisters and Catheters?
It is a good idea to keep a good stock of canisters and catheters to provide peace of mind that you are prepared for an emergency situation. The following Res-Q-Vac spare parts can be purchased:
Which Parts of the Res-Q-Vac Can I Reuse?
Helping to keep costs down by minimising the number of single-use parts, the pump handle of the Res-Q-Vac can be reused. The canister and catheter must be replaced after use.
How Do I Clean the Pump Handle?
As the Res-Q-Vac Pump Handle can be reused, it's important to keep it clean. The handle can be cleaned with surface disinfectant such as sodium hyperchlorite or hydrogen peroxide.
Please note that the pump handle must not be autoclaved. It must not be cleaned with alcohol or compounds containing alcohol.
