Who Does the Immedia SlingOn Hoist Attachment Benefit?

The Immedia SlingOn Hoist Attachment is a multi-tool designed primarily for the easy insertion of a hoist sling, without the need for rolling or moving the user. As such, the attachment is a convenient solution for carers seeking friendlier methods of patient transfer, whilst the comfort the attachment provides is a welcome relief for patients with low mobility. The Immedia SlingOn can also be used to move the patient higher in bed and minimise friction under pressure points.

How Do I Position the Immedia SlingOn Under Patients?

To discover how best to position this product, please follow the instructions below.

1. Firstly, ensure that the press studs in all four corners are fastened.
2. Fold the SlingOn at least as many times as there is a crossed stitching at each functional handle.
3. Position the aid under the user either from the head or foot end so that the open end faces away from the user and the folded part is under the head and shoulders.
4. Grasp the corner through both layers – the carer’s palm should be facing the user with SlingOn inside the carer’s hand.
5. The carer can now 'roll' the SlingOn out under the user.
6. It may be helpful to have more than two carers involved, e.g. one carer to hold SlingOn at the top while the other carers press down on the mattress.
7. Fold out one wing at a time.

How Do I Use the Small Hoist Aid?

Once the SlingOn Aid is positioned, follow the step-by-step instructions below to use the product.

1. Pull the sheet down between the two layers and release the press studs.
2. Next, place the sheet between the two layers.
3. The carers can then gently pull the sheet into position and lift.
4. Ideally, the leg straps will be pushed under the user between the two nylon layers.

Washing Instructions

This product can be washed in a machine up to 80°C. Do no use fabric softener, bleach or dry clean. Tumble dry and iron on a low heat.

The user should always be lifted in the sling, never in the SlingOn. Always remove the top part of the SlingOn before hoisting.
