Daray Medical Lighting

What Are the Benefits of the BH200 Bed-Head Patient Light?

By mimicking the designs of contemporary ward lighting, this reading or personal use light makes an appropriate addition to patient bed-heads. By giving each patient control over the light at their bedside you add to their comfort and agency over their space, which can often be lacking in clinical environments. The light is focused, so as to provide effective illumination without distracting other patients.

Is This Lamp Easy for Patients to Use?

The gooseneck design of this lamp is very easy for patients to adjust and will stay perfectly in place once moved. The lamp's single touch controls are also intuitive for patients to use. On top of this, the lamp is free from catches or finger traps on which patients could potentially hurt themselves.

What Are the Features of the Daray BH200 Bed-Head Patient Light?

In order to improve your patients' experience without interfering with the necessary functions of the ward, this device includes the following features:

  • One touch variable intensity – is convenient and hygienic
  • Adjustable gooseneck –  boast a wide flexibility and naturally rests in position once moved
  • LED technology – offers long lasting, heat free lighting
  • Low maintenance – there is no need to replace bulbs at any point during this lamp's lifespan
  • Low energy consumption – to save your power bill and the environment
  • Tight beam angle – 30º angle prevents light from disturbing other patients
  • Comfortable, glare-free light – ideal for reading
  • Completely enclosed – with no finger traps for patient comfort
  • BioProtect – coating on all painted surfaces helps to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination

How Hygienic Is This Lamp?

With a BioProtect coating on all painted surfaces, this lamp is excellently equipped to prevent risk of cross-contamination. It also features an easy wipe-down design for quick and effective cleaning between patients.

What Mounting Options Are Available?

There are two potential mounting options available for this lamp:

  • Wall mounted – fixed directly to the wall at the patient's bed-head, this option offers reliable and flexible lighting, which the patient can adjust without allowing them to remove it completely. However, as a stationary fixing this option can cause issues if you need to regularly move beds.
  • Rail clamp – the rail mounted model of bed-head lamp fits to Daray's lighting rail (sold separately) to facilitate quick adjustment along a wall and even moving between different rail locations when needed. This option requires additional set up and investment but facilitates extremely versatile use.

How Bright Is the Light?

The light from this lamp is 5,800 Lux at 0.5m. This is a moderate intensity of light, enough to read comfortably, but not so much as to cause potential disturbance to other patients.

What Is the Colour Temperature of This Light?

This LED light achieves a cool light colour temperature of around 4200K. This is just towards the blue end of the spectrum and guarantees a clear, undistorted realisation of photos, images or book pages.

Will the Lamp Get Hot?

One of the main benefits of LEDs over halogen bulbs is that they hardly heat up during operation, in this case by less than 2ºC. This means you can maximise the comfort of patients while they are in bed.

What Is BioProtect?

BioProtect is an anti-microbial coating which is included with this examination light. By reducing the potential for microbes to propagate it reduces the risk of cross-contamination and assists in infection control.
