Bed Pressure Mat for MPPL and POCSAG Systems

One of the biggest problems when caring for elderly people is ensuring that they don't fall in the middle of the night by leaving their bed without help. The Bed Pressure Mat for MPPL and POCSAG Systems enables you to do just that, with its sensor sending an alarm to the MPPL Pager which alerts a loved one or carer.

What Is the Bed Pressure Mat for MPPL and POCSAG Systems For?

The Bed Pressure Mat For MPPL Systems is designed to fit underneath someones bed, before sending an alarm if the person leaves the bed. This is ideal for people with Alzheimer or dementia, and for people at risk from falling from the bed. It ensures that help can be at hand within a small space of time following the accident, and it ensures that should someone start to wander off, that they can be stopped.

What Do I Need to Use the Bed Pressure Mat for MPPL Systems?

The Bed Pressure Mat is part of the Care Alarm System. It is the first stage in the system, a sensor that sends the alarm to the MPPL Pager. For the system to work you will need to purchase the following:

Alternatively, you can buy the Bed Pressure Mat and the Transmitter together below. However please bare in mind that you will still need to purchase the MPPL Pager.

How Does the Bed Pressure Mat Work?

The Pressure Mat is designed for use in care homes, hospitals and normal homes. It is suitable for when someone in the home needs care, particularly when that person may leave their bed or fall from their bed during the night. The Pressure Mat is part of a Care System that ensures that vulnerable people can receive the care that they need should it be required.

The Pressure Mat is at the start of the Care Alarm System, and acts as a monitor that is triggered when the sleeping person gets up from their bed. You connect the Pressure Mat to the Transmitter via an audio jack, meaning that the Transmitter will receive the alarm before sending it on to the MPPL Pager. The MPPL Pager will now sound an alarm, warning those nearby that someone needs help.

Pressure Sensitive

The mat detects when someone is lying on it, and when they go to leave their bed it uses the Pressure Mat Transmitter (sold separately) to alert the MPPL Pager (sold separately) to alert you that they have left their bed. This means that you can easily and quickly get to them to help them up.

Great Design

The mat is designed to be easy to use. It's incredibly thin, which means that it isn't noticeable or uncomfortable in the bed, and can be placed on top of a mattress or underneath it, depending on the type of mattress and bed used.

Dimensions of the Bed Pressure Mat

The size dimensions of the Bed Pressure Mat for the Voice Alert Occupancy Monitoring Alarm System are:

  • Width: 75cm
  • Length: 45cm

Understanding the MPPL Epilepsy Alarm System

The MPPL Epilepsy Alarm System is a series of pagers, monitors, sensors, transmitters and full kits that enable you to monitor people while they are asleep. It is designed for those with epilepsy, dementia and other similar diseases. Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult to get your head around, so we've created this guide for understanding your way around the MPPL System.

What Do I Need to Know Before Purchase?

The Epilepsy Alarm System features three different kinds of products. These are MPPL Pagers, Transmitters, and finally the group Switches, Buttons, Sensors and Detectors. The system works in the following way:

A sleeping person has a seizure and triggers a sensor, followed by the sensor triggering the transmitter. The transmitter sends an alert to the pager which sounds an alarm which alerts a carer or loved one.

How the MPPL Alarm System Works

Key Rules Before Purchase

  1. Your Epilepsy Alarm System must include an MPPL Pager, a Sensor and and a Transmitter to work.
  2. Before ordering a sensor on its own, please check whether it includes a Transmitter and MPPL Pager.
  3. Some of our switches, buttons, sensors and detectors are supplied with either an MPPL Pager, a transmitter, or nothing at all, so it's important to check first.
  4. If you are just after a spare part, then you don't need to worry about purchasing all three types of product again.
  5. All of our Full Kits are supplied with a Sensor, Transmitter and Pager.
