What Is the Purpose of the Tri-Point Back Brace?
Acting as an unloader brace, the Aspen Tri-Point Brace helps to restore a natural centre of gravity. This is particularly useful for individuals with postural spinal imbalances, and spinal alignment deformities. It uses a 'tri-point' system to promote better alignment of the spinal region, offering the following:
- Frontal Control: Stability and support for side-to-side movements to prevent excessive bending/lateral shifting of the spine
- Sagittal Control: Controls forward or backward movements of the spine, improving posture and reducing strain
- Rotational Control: Limits twisting and rotational movements of the torso to prevent reinjury or discomfort
Who Can Benefit From the FSO Postural Brace?
Individuals with the following conditions may find this brace an effective rehabilitative tool:
- Adult degenerative scoliosis
- Adult idiopathic scoliosis
- Cerebral palsy
- Spinal cord injuries

- Multiple sclerosis
- Brown-Séquard Syndrome

Removeable Vertical Stays
Vertical stays are often included in the design of back braces to further support the spine by keeping it in a neutral position. They can also redistribute pressure across the back, helping to alleviate pain and discomfort. The Aspen FSO Brace includes removeable stays, to offer a low profile alternative and improve comfort should the stays become uncomfortable.
Localised Compression for Pain Relief
The Aspen Tri-Point Postural Back Brace features a SlickTrack tightening system, with pull tabs to enable users to adjust the level of localised compression. With the ability to control compression levels, users can play a hand in their own recovery by reducing swelling and inflammation in afflicted regions and improving their own comfort.
Please note that different pull tabs control compression at different points. See below for more information on which pull tab to use for upper or lower back compression:
- Right Pull Tab: Controls upper back compression
- Left Pull Tab: Controls lower back compression
