PIR Technology
The Alerta Detect uses infrared technology to trigger and alert when body movement is detected within the range of the beam. Using PIR technology, this system can function in almost any situation and is especially useful in environments where alarm mats are not an option.
Functioning as a simple 'plug-and-play' system, the Alerta Detect connects directly into the nurse call system, and can be powered by either mains or battery. This system allows the patient a certain amount of movement and mobility, while still providing care teams with advanced warning of any risk of falling, or attempts to wander from the room.
The Alerta detect is most effective when mounted near a door or at a patient's bedside, to detect either falls or wandering. When the patient moves into the range of the infrared beam, it will activate the nurse call system, prompting the care giver to ascertain the patient's safety.
